Our Bakeries

Following the phenomenal response to the first One Mile Bakery in Cardiff, with a long waiting list for deliveries and huge demand for our baking classes, we want to bring the unique OMB experience to many more of you. A network of brilliant bakers and teachers are setting up their own One Mile Bakeries in locations across the UK. Each will deliver delicious homemade bread, soup and preserves by bike to subscribers within a mile of their kitchen and teach inspirational baking classes.

Trudoxhill: One Mile Bakery founder Elisabeth Mahoney is opening her second OMB in her new home near Frome in Somerset. Deliveries will be made by bike and on foot in the village, with baking and cookery classes held in her cottage kitchen.

Hale: Teacher turned baker Matt Townley is opening the first OMB in the north-west, delivering amazing loaves, soups and preserves by bike in Hale from mid-May and teaching brilliant baking courses in his kitchen from June.

Exeter: After a successful career in the world of the arts, Boudicca Woodland now relishes a different challenge with her trademark passion and creativity, bringing OMB deliveries to her vibrant and much-loved community of St Thomas from May. Fantastic baking classes launch in June.

Cardiff: Professional rugby player turned baker Nick Macleod is bringing amazing bread to a whole new Cardiff mile in Rhiwbina, where he grew up and has now returned to with his young family

We are working with other home bakers right now, helping them set up their own bakery in their community, and teaching them how to run brilliant baking classes. I’d signed up to this ridiculous low / no carb business for far too long. The Introduction to Bread course at OMB saved me from such madness, reintroduced me to healthy amounts of grain consumption and totally transformed the way I thought about the wonder that is proper baked bread. Beyond the bread, everything about the class was an absolute joy. I will definitely be booking a refresher.
